I prefer pens. So, for the right price, I'll be willing to let this genuine #2 pencil go.
FYI - it was made in the USA

Trade you for a partially used book of matches? Only 2 missing!
Of course, I would have to see a picture before we did anything.
Act quickly...I have other offers, you know.

Does it come with a certificate of authenticity?
What is it's appraised value?

If the serial number has been rubbed off, I'm going to be suspicious. Please provide the serial number and manufacturer of the pencil so that I may perform a background check on it.
Also, is this listing just so you can claim you've put it out there for open bidding when, in fact, you've already got a secret deal to sell it to Halliburton for an inflated price? Please respond quoting this message, and an electronic signature for Compliance Standards.

When you say "partially used" does that mean there are bite-marks on it as well??

Hmmmm, I had a pencil stolen the other day from my desk. Its a Ticonderoga #2 and I took a picture of it before it was stolen. I have the serial # and paperwork for it. It is a one of a kind, custom made pencil and I miss it very much... If I find the bastid that stole, I will ring his neck. If anyone has seen my pencil on the pencil black market or ebay, please report it immediately.

How many owners/users? Would you consider a trade for a used felt tip marker or are you sold on ball point?

If it's a Ticonderoga then we can talk.

Sorry - it's not a Ticonderoga but an Avery. The eraser has very little life left in it but I heard if you pinch the sleeve surrounding it you may get some more use out of it. You might also like to know that this unique writing utensil is yellow and blue and is decorated with happy moons and stars. Only two bite marks on it but I don't think this will jeopardize the integrity as far as writing performance is concerned.
Act now because I've had a lot of responses.

Ok, I've run some numbers and was able to come up with something:
If the pencil is as you've described it, I'm prepared to offer screen and stage legend Anthony Quinn's t-shirt, for even exchange.

I represent a syndicate which would be interested in buying your pencil, and wish to know the answers to a few question so that we might proceed in a most equitable and transparrent fashion (compliant with the Sarbannes-Oxley Laws) upon the business of purchasing the above captioned.
1. How much of a retention would you need to hold off on the sale of the item to other potential buyers?
2. Can you provide Evidence of Property Insurance on the above captioned.
3. Do you accept all responsibility for cargo costs and coverage until the point of delivery?
4. We would be especially interested in the above captioned if it, even remotely, in some way, seemed to depict the Virgin Mary--and if the pencil cries, well, honestly, you can name your price.

You might have better luck if you'd describe it as "certified pre-owned."
But nobody's gonna believe you now if you try the "only-used-on-Sundays-at- church-by-a-little-old-lady."
Allow me to translate for Sproc. :P
"My friends and I (or business) are interested in your pencil. We have a few questions. (I don't undertsand how SBO applies here?)
1-what's the down payment?
2-do you carry property insurance?
3-what are the shipping terms? FOB or POB?
4-What makes it unique/valuable?"
That or he's trying to Nigerian scam you.
