The 750SS is only $129.99 new at sports authority, a 11 ft ugly stick about $60 way look for used.
The stuff C is selling is TOP OF THE LINE STUFF. To good for mtbers :jokey

Van StaalŪ VSB Bail Spinning Reels

No challenge is too extreme for the world's toughest spinning reel. Every model is overbuilt and designed to handle the rigors of surf and salt. The VSB Bail model is the only reel in its class that can boast fully machined 6061-T6511 aluminum construction, plus a skirted spool, strong titanium bail arm, spring-held manual bail, oversized rotor clutch with continuous anti-reverse, titanium nitride line roller (great for braided line), and titanium center shaft for incredible cranking power. Washout slots keep sand from collecting.http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTarget=search&hvarTextId=72381&hvarAID=bizrate&cm_mmc=Shopzilla-_-Fishing-_-Saltwater%20Fishing_Reels_Spinning%20Reels-_-Van%20Staal%20VSB%20Bail%20Spinning%20Reels%20-%20Choose%20Size%20%26%20Color

HEY TP: Yes to the surf equipment. I've got a killer St. Croix that matches up with the Van Staal just PERFECT. With spectra on the VS, the rig casts like a rocket...

Try the Penn 704z or 706z reel. They are very reliable. The SS are more $$ and I don't think they are as good. I bought my 704z on Ebay for $75.

Real man surf fish, or is it tuna fish no I got it real men bluegill fish,
Ok lets face it the only real men that fish are the carb people up north.

BTW I was thinking the other day when I was RM#5 last day of striper season , it would be cool to have a vision fishing day. Just pick a day in the sping and just show up at a beach or on a charter boat for people with no gear.
